Homemade GF granola

I stumbled across a recipe for a plum crumble topping that I ended up devouring most of before it reached the crumble. It was great just on its own as granola and so easy to make. So, with a little adapting, I made a batch.

You can either add extras into the main mix – dried fruit, nuts, chocolate shavings, seeds, rice krispies! – or you can add them whenever you make yourself a bowl depending on what you feel like. I prefer the latter! My first two choices, as photographed, were:

  • peach and pineapple yoghurt with chopped hazelnutsCollage - granola
  • banana and chocolate shavings

Ingredients (adjust depending on the amount you want to make):

  • 300g pure oats (GF)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tsp oil
  • Cinnamon to taste (I used 1 tsp)
  • A dash of salt

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients together thoroughly.
  3. Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet on a tray and bake on a low shelf for 15 minutes. Keep an eye on it and give it a shake every 5 minutes or so to make sure it browns evenly.
  4. Et voila!
